OCTLIGHT Ramping Up VCSEL Production

After a very succesful Photonics West 2019, where OCTLIGHT exhibited in early February in order to engage with prospective customers, the OCTLIGHT production team has been hard at work to increase the through-put of VCSELs to ramp up our production.

From the Photonics West 2019 trade-show it was evident that VCSEL technology is seen to play a major role in upcoming OCT products for Ophthalmology with several announcements of advancement of 1060 nm wavelength tunable VCSEL technology.

The added effort put into the cleanroom semiconductor facilities has been fruitful, making the recent VCSEL wafer production run our most succesful yet.

The VCSELs will be put to use in Caliper OCT Swept Source modules for OEM sampling in 2019. VCSELs are also taken out for long-term reliability testing to document that OCTLIGHT VCSEL technology delivers the same reliability as well-established InGaAs VCSEL technology.
